I want to thank everyone for putting up with a slightly disruptive week. I’m so delighted with how much progress you guys were able to make while I was holding conferences with students. For me the chance to meet one on one with each student is very important. I only wish that there were more time to get to know each of you better.
In addition to getting better acquainted with one another, I find these conference meetings as an opportunity to make sure each and everyone of us know where we are going in this course and what is expected. As there were several recurring questions, I think it will be useful to spend a few minutes at the start of class to briefly review some of the basic logistics and procedures necessary for success in this class. I believe there are only two students I’ve not yet had a conference with. I will attempt to contact those students by email to square this away.
I’d also like to thank you all for getting the Feedback Form shared Google documents sorted out. Remember I will be using this document to record your scores at the end of each of the four course sections. I think there are still a half-dozen or so of you still needing to copy, edit and share the template document with me. I’m currently about 30 percent of the way through recording scores. I hope to have this done by the end of the week.
Also, I will be updating the Accounts document with columns for your Flickr, YouTube and SoundCloud accounts. If a student wishes to get this started before me, that would be awesome.
Speaking of Flickr, I’d appreciate if each of you would add me as a Flickr contact. My ID on Flickr is scottloradio.
I think today’s Pie Chart is self-explanatory, so I won’t give any additional details. Please be advised that the pop quiz will come second in the sequence. Those arriving late might miss the fun. Please tell a friend.
Finally, I’m still working on the blog post about the Group Infographic Project. From talking to students and answering questions about this during the conferences, I’m pretty certain that each group has at least two members who have a pretty good idea of what this all about. The most important thing will be to get an early start as the group presentations will take place on February 22 and 24. Please make sure each member sets up a Prezi account and you’ve connected with one another on the Prezi system.
